It is with great sadness that we share with you news of the sudden death of Chris Johnson, our colleague and great friend. Throughout life we meet people who enrich our lives, Chris was one of those people. He always had a hot drink in his hand, a smile on his face and a story to tell.
Over the last 2 years you might have been lucky enough to come across Chris working with us, whether it be on one of our First Aid or Food Safety in the Outdoors courses, where his teaching style was unique and memorable to say the least. Or on our Forest School training course, where Chris, forgetting he was the student this time- would jump in to teach us all from his extensive back catalogue of skills.
Chris made early morning muddy starts enjoyable, and late evening muddy finishes tolerable. He had a deep passion for Forest Schools and the Outdoors, something that was infectious and catching when you were around him. He just got it, and all Forest School stands for.
Chris wanted to make lives better. He taught us all how to save them.
We are all going to miss him beyond measure, but he has left an imprint on our hearts and our campfires forever. Sometimes, things don’t feel fair. And this is one of those times. But we stand together as a community mourning, a community that Chris was proud to be a part of.
